Maryland Department of Aging (MDOA)

Preparing Maryland's infrastructure for longer lives and a growing population of older adults by developing innovative approaches to aging and providing equitable access to resources through Maryland's multisector plan for aging, Longevity Ready Maryland. Older adults and people with disabilities who need services and supports should visit Maryland Access Point.

Building Longevity-Readiness

MDOA is working to make Maryland a state where everyone can comfortably age in place by ensuring:

  • 1

The needs of older adults are represented throughout state and local government

  • 2

The impact of longer lives guides effective policy across all sectors

  • 3

The economic and societal value of older adults is recognized and protected

  • 4

Capacity building of age-friendly infrastructure is prioritized throughout the state

Ways to Connect

Older adults are vital to a thriving state, occupying a significant part of the Maryland workforce, supporting local businesses, and contributing to the community in countless ways. As we recognize the economic and societal value of older adults, we understand why it’s in everyone’s best interest to keep Marylanders in Maryland as we age.
